Children's voices sing, "Hello, Mrs. Potts!" as Dianne enters the classroom as a musical artist with her bag of surprises. Her background as a classically trained piano performer and piano teacher for over thirty years, along with twelve years of teaching "Dianne Potts Kindermusik", has allowed her the privilege of witnessing the pleasure that musical exploration brings to young ones.

PIANO LESSONS:
Mrs. Potts' piano studio is located in her home in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Students aged 7 to 70+ enjoy their piano studies and continue to learn about themselves and their relationship to the world through music. Her students strive for excellence in examinations through the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto and some participate in the Lakehead Festival of Music and the Arts receiving awards and scholarships. Graduated from FWCI in Thunder Bay as a Ontario Scholar
Received both "Piano Teacher" and "Piano Performer" diplomas from the Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto (A.R.C.T.)
Studied music in Thunder Bay under Marion Zonneveld, Heather Morrison, Mary Murray, Joe Yaciuk, the sisters of Saint Joseph at Avila Music School, and under Anton General at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto
Received Kindermusik training in all four curriculums under the authors, Linda Swears, Dr. Lorna Heyge and Audrey Sillick at:

Awards, Honours and Achievements
Received numerous scholarships and awards from the Lakehead Music Festival including the Silver Tray Award and was honoured to represent the Thunder Bay Region at the Ontario Provincial Festival finals in Hamilton (1977)
"The City of Thunder Bay Achievement Award in Recognition of Distinguished Contribution to the Community of Thunder Bay" (1978)
"The Presidential Service Award Honours" certificate of recognition from the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Association (1990)
Developed and instructed a week long summer program "I've Got Rhythm" for children ages four to seven years (1985 - 1989) and a fifteen session music appreciation course for children ages seven and eight years (1989)
Dianne Potts has been motivating hundreds of piano students both privately and in group instruction for over 30 years. Her students continue to achieve honours and first class honours results in Royal Conservatory of Music examinations in both written and practical performance. Some have received scholarships and awards by participating in festivals and provincial and national composition contests.
Performed on CBC radio (2002, 2004, 2005)
A children's choir performed two of her compositions, "We are the Children of the World" and "Come, Share the Flame", for the Honourable James Bartleman, Lt. Governor of Ontario at the opening of the "Children's Centre" in Thunder Bay (2005)

Community Service
Volunteers at the Thunder Bay Festival of Music and the Arts since 1982
Plays weekly singalongs at the Alzheimer Day Centre (2000 - present)
Teaches and performs at church services and church schools
Performs at fundraisers for various charities
